So far this product is performing well 1 year after purchase. I have been using it in a finished basement. The touch button features work well. The only problem for me is that the discharge tube for a hose connection is on the side and not in the rear, so the unit will not fit into the nook that was created for its predecessor.
dehumidifier 70 pint Frigidaire

Reviewer: Mary Frankel,
I just bought a frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier. I have owned two before both LG. Both stopped working after two years. I plugged in the Frigidaire and put the setting to 50%. I took two hours to go from 75% to 50% taking out humidy immediately. And very very quite from a noise perspective. Hardly could hear it in the other room with the door closed. I paid $189 and the best buy yet. Works great and quite. I would recommend it to anyone.
Worked for 1 year.

This unit worked GREAT during the full warranty (parts & labor) period of 1 year. When the warranty expired, so did this unit. The fan runs making it seem like it works but does nothing except run your electric bill up. This unit should be rated negative (-)5 stars. I would only recommend this unit to my worst enemy.

I had a flood in my basement because my sump pump had stopped working so naturally had a lot of humidity thgouth the house. I went to Home Depot and bought a dehumidifier, they only had one to choose from, brought it home and after running for a 24 hour period, got about 1 tablespoon of water. Naturally took it back to the store, went on line to read reviews on what to purchase and ended up with this one and it has really done a great job. Great purchase.
Use it as suggested

The customer reviews I read said it was noisy; but it isn't bad--especially since I run it in the basement and live mostly a floor above it. A common complaint was that the bucket is hard to empty, so I filed of parts of the catch, making it easier to open. I also empty the bucket each morning and evening, which means that it is easier to empty because it isn't very full. Another complaint was that it clicks on and off too often, so I leave it on constant operation and turn if off manually if the humidity goes below 65. I find the machine does exactly as I hoped it would. My modifications work well for me, because my brain usually works better than any mechanical device. It's a good, reliable dehumidifier that does the job, and I don't mind living with its supposed limitations, because I'm usually smarter than any machine and can figure out how to make it work for me.
